One of AARC's core objectives is to provide training to schools, families, and communities throughout Alaska. We provide FREE onsite and distance (via Zoom or other technology) trainings, and we can connect you with other web-based training resources. Developmental Screening & Assessment through a Cultural Lens | In this interactive training, we will discuss a variety of milestone and developmental screening tools commonly used to assess a young child's developmental skills, next steps if there are concerns and the assessment process if a child demonstrates characteristics of autism. An emphasis will also be placed on strategies for assessing children through a cultural lens and strategies for respecting family or community diversity in the screening or assessment process. | |
